About My Cooking Pot
My Cooking Pot is a small recipe site with one goal: dinners you can make on an ordinary weeknight. Every recipe has a short ingredient list, clear times, step-by-step instructions and a recipe card you can print.
The editors
Each group of categories has its own editor. Our editors write under pen names; see the Editorial Policy.
Maya EllisonWeeknight dinners & chickenMaya writes our dinner and chicken recipes. She likes one pan, a short shopping list and a thermometer within reach, and she will always choose thighs over breasts.
Tessa RowePasta & soupsTessa edits our pasta and soup recipes. She salts the pasta water properly, saves a cup of it every time, and thinks most soups are better the next day.
Hannah BrooksBaking & dessertsHannah edits our baking and dessert recipes. She weighs flour when she can, keeps overripe bananas in the freezer, and prefers recipes that need one bowl.
Luke BarrettBeef & side dishesLuke writes our beef and side dish recipes. He cooks most things in a cast iron pan, salts early, and thinks a good side dish can save an ordinary dinner.
How our recipes are written
- The recipe comes first. A short introduction, then the method, then a recipe card with quantities, times and notes. A "Jump to Recipe" button is at the top of every page.
- Standard, plain ingredients. Quantities are given in US measures with metric equivalents where it helps.
- Safe temperatures. Recipes with meat, poultry or eggs state the safe internal temperature. Use a food thermometer; color is not a reliable guide.
- Honest about how we work. Recipes are developed with the help of software tools and reviewed by an editor before they are published. We do not show star ratings or review counts we do not have.
