Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This policy explains what information My Cooking Pot (mycookingpot.com, "we", "the Site") collects when you visit, how it is used, who it is shared with and the choices you have. If you have a question that is not answered here, write to hello@mycookingpot.com.
Who is responsible
The Site is operated by My Cooking Pot, which is the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at hello@mycookingpot.com.
Information we collect
- Log and device data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the Site and keep it secure.
- Analytics data. With your consent where required, we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive and how the Site performs. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Advertising data. Advertising partners may set cookies and use similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and, where permitted, personalize ads. See "Advertising" below.
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising. We work, or may work, with third-party advertising companies, including ad management partners and Google, to serve ads when you visit. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of interest to you.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info (US), youradchoices.ca (Canada) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
- Opting out does not remove ads. It means the ads you see will be less tailored to you.
When we join an ad management program, that partner's own data collection notice will be added to this section, along with the list of its advertising partners.
Cookies and consent
Essential cookies are always active. Analytics and advertising cookies are used according to the choice you make in the consent banner, which you can change at any time from the "Manage" link in that banner. Details of each category are in our Cookie Policy.
Pinterest and other embedded services
Save and Follow buttons link to Pinterest. If you use them, Pinterest receives information according to its own privacy policy. Pages may also load fonts or scripts from third parties, which receive your IP address in order to deliver those files.
How we use information
- to operate, secure and improve the Site;
- to measure readership and decide what to write next;
- to display and measure advertising;
- to answer messages you send us;
- to comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, on our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site for essential processing, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is shared with service providers that help us run the Site: our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare), analytics providers and advertising partners. Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing and withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
- California and other US states: you may request to know what personal information is collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise the opt-out through the consent banner and the opt-out links above. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.
To make a request, email hello@mycookingpot.com. We answer within the period required by law.
Data retention
Server logs are kept for a short period for security. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form for up to 14 months. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.
Children
The Site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or partners change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
